I began playing the Piano Accordion at the age of 11 and commenced accordion lessons with Ossie Mazzei at his renowned Accordion School in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. During my years learning at the school, I entered a number of competitions and championships with my accomplishments including a Second Place in the Accordion Duet section (with Domenico Taraborrelli) in the 1981 Accordion Society of Australia Championships and a First Place in the Accordion Trio Section (with Julie and Joseph Castorina) at the 1991 Australasian Accordion Championships, Gold Coast, Queensland.

I joined the Ossie Mazzei Accordion Orchestra at the age of 16, where I performed in numerous concerts for and organised by the Queensland Accordion Club at various venues on the Gold Coast and Northern New South Wales.  The Orchestra was also invited to perform at other events and venues throughout Queensland and New South Wales including the Ingham Italian Festival, Apple and Grape Harvest Festival and at the Stanthorpe Cultural Centre.

In 2005, I joined the Queensland Accordion Ensemble headed by Marie McGuinness and have performed at various locations around the Gold Coast and Brisbane areas. A major highlight for the Ensemble was the invitation to play as guest artists at the 2009 World Accordion Championships, Coupe Mondiale in Auckland, New Zealand.

Now as a member of the Queensland Accordion Orchestra, I have enjoyed my involvement in all concerts performed by this newly formed group, and have been particularly excited about the creation of the group’s website and first audio CD.  My next personal goal is to perform with the Queensland Accordion Orchestra over the next twelve months at variuos venues around Queensland and Northern New South Wales.
